 Andy Kushner - President

Andy has 20 years experience in real estate marketing and advertising and has marketed or sold 70 different residential real estate projects, over 3,000 units of housing throughout New England. Additionally, Andy has sold over $80 million in land tracts and commercial property since founding Spinnaker Group, Inc.

Prior to forming Spinnaker Group, Andy was Managing Partner at Carlson Communications, a real estate marketing firm based in Northboro, MA. At Carlson Communications, Andy specialized in developing and implementing strategic marketing programs for clients throughout New England. He also worked closely with several large developers in the location and analysis of new property acquisitions.

In the late 80's, Andy worked in the commercial real estate brokerage business, based in Boston. He specialized in the marketing of REO and distressed property located in the Southwest United States and was responsible for the sale of large apartment complexes and condo projects.

Before moving into the real estate marketing, Andy was employed by two of Massachusetts' largest advertising agencies where he designed and built marketing communications programs for Fortune 500 clients including AT&T, American Express, Polaroid, Miller Brewing Company, Sony, Nikon, National Car Rental and Continental Airlines. These marketing programs included extensive direct mail and print advertising, telemarketing system design, and the development and building of marketing databases. Andy earned a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Providence College and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Clarkson University.
 



 


Kathy Lafond - Senior Marketing Manager

Kathy has a diverse background with over 15 years experience in residential home construction, sales/marketing and human resources and holds a Rhode Island real estate salesperson license. She joined Spinnaker Group in August, 2002.

Prior to coming to Spinnaker, Kathy worked at Pulte Home Corporation, NE Division as Sales Administrator & Closing Coordinator. She gained experience in purchase & sales administration, coordinated all closings for multiple communities in RI and CT, provided full administrative support to field sales managers and construction managers, conducted market research for feasibility studies and served as a customer service liaison to homeowners.

Kathy is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a BA Degree in Sociology & Communications. She also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University, as well as a Certificate in Human Resource Management from Bryant College.

 

 



 

Peter C. Spinella - Commercial Broker

Peter C. Spinella has returned to South Kingstown, RI to head our Commercial Real Estate Division from our South County Commons office. He will be the broker for the Florida office as well as overseeing the Commercial activities companywide. Prior to joining Spinnaker Group, Peter was in charge of a Commercial Real Estate team for Prudential in Florida. They were the top 3% of Prudential agents in the country and number one in the state of Florida. His team received the coveted CoStar award for top leasing brokerage in southern Florida. Additionally Peter is a licensed Real Estate broker in Rhode Island and Florida.

Peter’s extensive experience ranges from relocating small businesses to new retail sites, to negotiating the purchase of multiple shopping centers for a single client. He has consulted on transactions in excess of two hundred and fifty million dollars involving thousands of acres for development.

Peter has worked with national and local clients including Harley Davidson, RH Donnelly, US Homes, K. Hovnanian, Lennar, WCI developers, Benderson Development, Morris Developers and Outback Steak House.

Prior to his career in Real Estste Peter was a Petty Officer in the United States Coast Guard. He was part of President Clinton's Presidential Support Detail, where he held a Top Secret and White House Clearance. 

Peter Is also the the Vice President of the Rhode Island Commercial and Apprasor Board of Realtors.

David Cohen, Director, Commercial Real Estate

With over 30 years of diversified Commercial Real Estate experience, David brings a depth of knowledge and experience to service a wide range of real estate needs for Spinnaker Group's clients.

David has participated in all aspects of commercial brokerage and corporate consulting with major emphasis on project management, directing site acquisition projects, performing financial/feasibility analysis, and devising and implementing lease and development strategies.  David has sold over $100 million of investment property and negotiated and produced over 200 lease transactions at major business centers.

Prior to his independent Broker activities, David has held in house professional positions as Director of Real Estate for major national corporations and worked at Wall Street, NYC.

David earned an MBA in Finance and Business Administration from Suffolk University and a BA in Economics from University of Moss-Amherst. He is a Licensed Broker in MA and California and a Licensed Mortgage Broker in California.

 

 



 Tony Grello - New Home Sales

Tony is licensed in RI and brings 30 years of new home sales experience to Spinnaker Group. He has a wealth of knowledge of the construction industry and provides a level of expertise for new home buyers. He has successfully managed  20 new home sale sites for Spinnaker Group.

Tony has taught school and coached sports for 20 years and has twice been Rhode Island's Coach of the Year.
 

 

 



 Tom Zahar - New Home Sales, Broker Associate

Tom has been a licensed Real Estate Broker since 1985 and has been a consistent top producer with over 600 homes sold. Previously, he was a Sales Manager for 8 years with Modern Continental.

Tom joined the Spinnaker Group Sales team in 2004 and recently sold out our Steeplechase Preserve community in Raynham. Tom resides in Lakeville with his wife and is actively involved in his Church, charity, food and Evangelical Missions.
 

 



 Chris Sanzaro - New Home Sales

Chris has several years of experience in the residential homes sales market. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in RI. Prior to joining Spinnaker Group in 2006 as an on-site New Home Sales Manager, Chris worked as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and Ocean State Properties.
 
Chris resides in Cranston, RI and has 2 children.

 



 Virginia (Ginny) Marrinan & Dan Marrinan - New Home Sales

Ginny & her husband Dan joined Spinnaker in 2006 and bring over 25 years of experience working in the Real Estate markets of NY and RI. In NY Ginny sold luxury high rise condominium projects as well as homes in all price ranges. In RI she has proven her strengths and versatility by successfully completing many developments for Pulte Home Corp., Meridian Custom Homes and sold for Lila Delman Real Estate in Narragansett, RI. Ginny is confident and knowledgeable in the many facets of real estate.

Ginny's husband Dan also works for Spinnaker Group in New Home Sales. A retired N.Y.C firefighter he has found real estate to be his second career. Dan has been a licensed real estate salesperson in NY, CT and RI. Most recently Dan sold out one of our developments in CT and has been successfully involved in listing and selling homes in RI.

Christine Kane is A.B.R. & S.R.E.S. certified.  Kent Washington Board of Realtors Circle of Excellence 2003,2004,2005 & 2006. RE/MAX 100% Club. Licensed in RI & CT. Prior to joining Spinnaker Group, Inc. in September 2007, Christine was a principal partner in the Tri-State Group with RE/MAX and The Kane-Pelletier Team of Coldwell Banker. 
 
Currently, Christine represents our new home community, The Preserve at Juniper Hills, located in Brooklyn, CT. Additionally, she works with existing home sales, land and commercial sales.  Christine has over 20 years of sales experience in addition to owning her own restaurant in Tampa FL. She has a BA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. 

 



 Fran Silva - New Home Sales

Fran is an accomplished and results driven Entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in new home sales. She has successfully sold hundreds of single family homes and condominiums throughout Massachusetts & RhodeIsland. Her new home projects have ranged from small to very large new construction developments and condominium conversions. Fran is skilled in customer relation building and believes strongly in getting to know unique needs and expectations of customers in order to maximize sales.

Ellen Krafchick - Accounting

Ellen has over 15 years of varied experience in accounting and finance. Prior to joining Spinnaker Group in 1996, Ellen worked for New England Mutual Life Insurance Company as a Supervisor-Senior Accountant for the Securities Accounting Department of the Controllers Division.

Ellen earned her Bachelors Degree in Communication Disorders with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has also completed classes towards a Master in Business Administration at Babson College and has completed all the required classes to become a State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser at Stonehill College.



 

Felice Katz - Graphic Design and Production Artist

Felice has been a graphic artist for the past 20  years. Her expertise lies in producing highly effective, yet cost efficient design work. She is fully Mac literate and provides us with the ability to stay on the technological cutting edge. She has worked with a variety of real estate related clients producing newspaper advertising, billboard designs, newsletters, direct mail, and brochures.

Felice brings a strong advertising and marketing background to the Spinnaker Group. Before entering the graphics world, Felice was the Advertising Manager for Frye Boots. She has worked in large Boston ad agencies and is able to bring a strategic focus to her creative work.



 David Valentine - Commercial Agent Florida

David joined Spinnaker Group in February, 2008. He brings over 20 years of customer service management and business experience to the Florida, Caribbean and South American market. Prior to joining Spinnaker Group, David specialized in corporate client relationships through commercial property acquisitions and mixed use development projects.  His previous hospitality management experience has enabled him to achieve success through team building and networking. Having worked with large companies and non profit organizations, David's ability to perform to the vision of his clients is unsurpassed.

 Heidi Cohen - Commercial Agent Florida

Heidi joined Spinnaker Group, Inc. specializing in Hospitality and Mixed-Use Projects. Her Teams experience expands to retail mixed-use, land sales and multi-family covering the US and going International.

 Heidi was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and raised in both Brooklyn and Long Island. She was first licensed in 1981 in Atlanta Georgia after graduating from college. Her real estate business started as a relocation specialist for US and International companies moving to Atlanta, Georgia. Later she moved to Florida where she's lived for the past ten years. She progressed to hotel administration and started as Executive Housekeeper of a major hotel and trained the staff of famous sports team owners.

For the past three years Heidi focused on large project global marketing including hotel, leisure services and retail. Her marketing company Florida Resort Life has gained her combined experience and insight on the global market and the different needs of the international buyers from hospitality management to currency exchange. The huge vacation home market in Florida brought on a need for Mixed-Use Lifestyle Centers. She sold large acreage vacant land to well known developers for large retail centers and mixed-use.

Heidi is currently  members  in CCIM, ICSC International Council of Shopping Centers, Leeds, Florida Gulf Coast Chapter U.S. Green Building Council, NAR, FAR, FGCAR and other National Networks. 



 Laura Di Bella - Commercial Agent Florida

Laura Di Bella earned her Florida Real Estate license in late 2001 and has represented a variety of commercial and high end residential transactions. Her main focus is in investment sales among high end, new construction, multi-family units throughout the southeast United States.

Prior to joining Spinnaker Group, Inc., Laura worked for Holly Real Estate and also held the position of co-owner and Chief Operating Officer of Image Marketing & Special Events, Inc., a promotional marketing and staffing company based out of Boynton Beach, Florida. Though her tenure at Image she earned invaluable experience and insight related to marketing strategy, negotiation, management and multi-tasking.

raduated from the University of Florida in 2001, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management with a Minor in Business Administration.

She is currently involved in national and local organizations such as the National Association of Realtors, the Realtor Association of Miami-Dade County, the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, the Urban Land Institute, the
University of Florida Alumni Association and the PaceCenter for Girls.
